CD Projekt Red has announced the standalone version of "The Witcher 3" Gwent game at this year's E3, and will feature huge single-player content at launch.

"The Witcher 3" is known for its massive content, with each expansion giving players tons of hours worth of gameplay, and "Gwent" will be no different.

Just like "The Witcher 3," "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" will be teeming with content. The game developer is planning on including multiple story mode campaigns for the game, with each campaign taking up to ten hours to complete, VG 24/7 reported.

Each single-player campaign will have its own unique storyline and fully voice acted lead characters. The players will explore different maps during the campaigns, using a 2D Geralt to move across the map, finding extra side quests or an additional card or two, according to Ars Technica.

In an interview with Kotaku, narrative designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz has taken inspiration from strategy-RPG's like "Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes" to create the single player story for "Gwent," and will be working with fellow narrative designer Karoline Stachyra.

"It's an extension of 'The Witcher''s universe," Tomaszkiewicz said.

The players will definitely spend a significant amount of time on these single-player campaigns, but the main highlight of "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" is the online multiplayer battles.

"Gwent" plays out just like other existing card games out there, like Blizzard's "Hearthstone" or "Magic: The Gathering." It involves strategic gameplay and building a strong deck to be able to take on the enemy player.

Also, just like "Hearthstone," players need a significant amount of time to find the best cards and study the best strategies in order to win.

The learning curve might be a bit steep, according to Ars Technica, for players who are not familiar with the "Gwent" card game in "The Witcher." The amount of card combinations and strategies can be intimidating for the uninitiated.

Interested players can sign-up for the beta on the official website PlayGwent.com. The beta is slated for a September release.

The beta testing will be limited to the PC and Xbox One, but the full game will be out on the PS4 as well. No exact release date is given out yet.
