The US-based technology giant, Google, recently expanded its wireless service scheme, Project Fi, to the US Cellular network. The reports suggest that all the customers of the US Cellular telecommunications company would be included in the latest agreement made with Google.

The Verge reported that the US Cellular customers would now be able to switch between multiple networks under the Project Fi and enjoy seamless connectivity. According to the project manager for the Project Fi wireless service, Evan Jacobs, all the US Cellular network customers would be provided with extra network consistency and speed.

Further, Google announced that with the help of the fifth-largest carrier, they would be able to utilize the US Cellular's LTE service and penetrate into the 23 states, in both urban and rural areas as well in the US.

Meanwhile, Ars Technica reported that the Project Fi was launched by Google in April 2015. The main aim of the US-based giant is to provide wireless service to the network users with pocket-friendly plans.

The principal function of the Project Fi service is to determine which network offers the best connection from a wide range of providers like T-Mobile, Sprint and now, US Cellular, reported Venture Beat. Once the strong network is detected, the service allows the user's device to connect to it or switch among networks, if any one of the connection is weak.

Digital Trends reported that the Project Fi wireless service uses special SIM cards and radio for achieving its prime objective to help the customers to switch to the fastest network on the go. It is also reported that the wireless scheme also provides the users with other functionalities like online voicemail, texting from other devices via Google Hangouts and call forwarding. The customers are charged for the Project Fi service on a monthly basis at a rate of $10 per 1 GB.

The only shortcoming of the Google's wireless service is that in order to avail this scheme, the customers need to have either Nexus 6 or Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P.

The reports suggest that the Project Fi coverage would be rolled out to the US Cellular customers in the coming few weeks.
