In recent interview at the Code Conference, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, expressed his views on the fast- growing car industry and his competitors. According to Elon, even though Apple is trying to crack into the industry with their rumored electric car model, the company would not be successful due to its late entry.

Musk told Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher during the Code event that Apple has not strategized their way into the industry and claimed that they might be left far behind in today's competitive environment. "I think it's great they're doing this, and I hope it works out," said Musk, as reported by Wall Street Journal. "It's just a missed opportunity."

Earlier, in September 2015, there were reports claiming that Apple started researching and secretly planning for their electric vehicle. 9 to 5 MAC reported that the US-based technology giant explored the feasibility of an Apple-branded electric car for about a year and then nodded a yes for the project.

It is reported that Apple has plans to release their electric car in few years' time and therefore Tesla CEO stated that when Apple finally launch their vehicle, the technology would have reached a new level and they will lag behind. Musk also teased the fact that by the time Apple will consider entering into full-scale production of their electric cars; Tesla would have already launched new upgraded versions of Model 3 cars.

Meanwhile, Yahoo reported that according to Tesla CEO, Google doesn't pose a threat to them as a competitor. Musk also said that he has his doubts that Google will ever release their self-driven car as they have not got any positive results even after testing their car model for years.

With all his views on Apple's electric car and Google, Tesla CEO Elon Musk also talked about his company's upcoming Tesla Model 3 car during the interview at the event. Elon said that the Tesla Model 3 car design would be finished in about six weeks' time. He also said that Tesla will complete more than 325,000 pre-orders for the Model 3 car by this year end, reported Recode.

Apple's anticipated electric car is expected to enter into full-scale production by 2020, whereas Tesla Model 3 will be launched in March 2017.
