Just like any other product launch, Google Nexus 2016 series are expected to follow the annual schedule that has been established by its predecessors, which means that fall announcements are in store for this year's Nexus devices.
Since the new Nexus devices are generally the first ones to feature the latest version of Android, hence users can expect both to be announced probably at the same time.
Google has indicated that the final version of the Android N OS will likely be released in the third quarter of this year, putting it within the rumored September release window for the Google Nexus devices.
Incidentally, this year's batch of Nexus devices will be a bit different from its predecessors because Google is reportedly working with a manufacturing collaborates i.e. HTC, to produce two different smartphones, according to Ecumenical News.
In addition, the newest Google Nexus devices will be feature rich and will also consist of fingerprint scanners, and they might also contain upgraded spec components, according to Tech Radar.
Moreover, Google also intends to take more control of the Nexus line moving forward, as the Google CEO Sundar Pichai mentioned in the Code Conference. He mentioned, that the company would "be more opinionated about the design of the phones," particularly where Google sees a need to "push the devices forward."
Users of the Nexus devices have been used to getting Android OS with that, but Pichai mentioned that it can change soon.
"You'll see us hopefully add more features on top of Android on Nexus phones," he said, according to The Verge. "There's a lot of software innovation to be had."
Thus, it seems that the users will have to wait for more information or an official announcement from Google to actually know what they can expect from the newest batch of Nexus 2016 to be launched in September.
