IO Interactive will be releasing Hitman Episode 3: Marrakesh next week, May 31.
After his exploits in Paris and Sapienza, Agent 47 will be trawling the streets of Marrakesh, described as 'both teeming with life and things to do, according to a post on the Playstation Blog.
Travis Barbour, Community Content Manager for IO Interactive, said that Marrakesh has been built with "a maze of alleys, a range of souks that line the medina walls and a fully fletched shisha cafe."
He went on to say that players can also check out Marrakesh's rooftop terraces.
Episode 3 comes with a new mission called "Gilded Cage". Agent 47's mission on the Marrakesh is to track down private banker Claus Strandberg and army General Reza Zaydan. Strandberg is holed up inside the secure Swedish Consulate, while Zaydan is protected by an elite group of soldiers, and can be found inside a temporary headquarters in the heart of Marrakesh. Both targets will be very hard to reach, and it's up to the player to come up with a tactic in true Hitman style.
Players should also expect more live content with the new episode. Barbour said that there will be new Contracts, Elusive Targets and Escalation Contracts, enough content to keep the players hands full.
The latest Hitman in the franchise, simply titled Hitman, is an episodic seven-part stealth game, with the first episode, "Intro Pack", released in March 2016. The first episode, which takes place in Paris, got generally favorable reviews, according to video game aggregator Metacritic. While the game is deemed enjoyable and had great replayability value, some news outlets felt that the game is somewhat lacking, with PC gamer reporting that "Hitman feels unrefined and unfinished in lots of small but important ways."
Hitman Sapienza, released April this year, got a slightly better score than Paris. Destructoid reported that Hitman continues to struggle technically, citing numerous crashes, and criticizing the long load times.
