The "rugged" version of the sleek Samsung Galaxy S7 is already making rounds online ahead of the AT&T Launch. According to Venture Beat, this water, and dust proof smartphone will bear slight changes from its predecessor.
The outside case might have 2 types: a black or a gold one. The dimensions are said to be increased in thickness of 9.9 mm, which is over a millimeter thicker than the 8.6-mm Galaxy S6 Active. A 15-gram weight gain, from 170 grams to 185 grams, was also observed on the upcoming device.
As for the specs, it might have a 15% larger battery capacity of 4000mAh capacity. It is rumored to have a 5.1-inch, 1440 x 2560-pixel Super AMOLED display.
An addition of a microSD slot is also speculated. Samsung Galaxy S7 might have a Snapdragon 820 system-on-chip from Qualcomm with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which runs with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The upcoming product could also sport a 12-megapixel camera with a dual pixel sensor that improves low-light image capture. Meanwhile, the selfie cam will have a 5MP resolution.
The release date may be on June 10 during the AT&T Launch. As per Phandroid, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is eligible for an upcoming BOGO (Buy One Get One) promotion.
The device, along with Galaxy S6, were reportedly added to the list last week. Those who would like to avail of the BOGO might want to take a look at the instructions given by the website.
