This might sound a bad news for all "The Winds of Winter" fanatics because author George R.R. Martin had reportedly postponed the book release date once again until 2017. Another hearsay is that English novelist Neil Gaiman will step foot to help him finish the book.
Martin apologized for the delay of the much-awaited book thru his online journal. "For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, 'I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER' on or before the last day of 2015... but the book is not done," he wrote.
But since there are rumors that the book is far from availability, many of the readers are allegedly disappointed, as noted by Vine Report.
Meanwhile, Gaiman addressed the speculations about helping Martin in finishing the sixth installment of "A Song of Fire and Ice." The rumor mill reportedly started when he was spotted in one of the author's property in Santa Fe.
The English writer told Time Out London has been showing support for his fellow novelist but he made it clear that he was there for a friendly visit and not to lend Martin a hand. However, he also said that he is being impatient as well when it comes to the "Winds of Winter" official book launch.
"It's frustrating because I promised myself I wouldn't watch the show until the last book came out. It was such an easy promise to make six years ago," Gaiman said. "You can't shield yourself [from 'Game of Thrones' spoilers]. It's like shielding yourself from political events or from what the Kardashians are doing," he added.
On the other hand, fans might expect some announcement from Martin on the upcoming Balticon event on May 27-30. Also dubbed as "The Maryland Regional Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention," this gathering marks the 50th anniversary and "The Winds of Winter" author is invited for "The Feast of Fire and Ice." Check out the complete information thru the Balticon official website.
