Microsoft allegedly delayed the release of Surface Pro 5. What could be the cause of delay? Catch the details here.
It is unlikely that the company will release a new hybrid product, contrary to the rumors that they are cutting down the prices of Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 price with up to $200 and &150 off, respectively, in the preparation for the rumored launch, noted News Everyday.
One of the reasons cited for the alleged delay is that Microsoft is waiting for a new processor to be released. Dubbed as Kaby Lake, the processor is expected to be available before the year ends.
More than that, the report also claimed that Surface Pro 5 will have a the Windows Redstone update which is required to "power up" the forthcoming devices. Since the release date for Windows Redstone upgrade is still uncertain, chances for the Surface Pro 5 release is slim as well.
Lastly, the effort to make Surface Pro 4 a hit might be unsuccessful if they launch a new one. Microsoft is expected to launch an upgrade because of the problems that the users have encountered after purchasing the product.
Infoworld reported that complaint has gotten worse to the point of having "to return this piece of scrap" level. Based on the website, it took up to 9 version of the drivers and firmware before Microsoft was able to address the issue.
The upgrades are reported via dates: "Oct. 23, 2015; Nov. 2; Nov. 18; Dec. 2; Dec. 17; Jan. 27, 2016; Feb. 17; Mar. 15; and Apr. 19 -- but the April 19 versions seems to have done the trick," according to the site.
Given these circumstances, the aim to make Surface Pro 4 a hit might be more plausible than to expect a Surface Pro 5 release, but then again, tech enthusiasts might want to wait for Microsoft's official announcement very soon. But should the product be out, Tech Radar noted that the price could be around $899.
