Philips has added 2 new smartphones into their growing list of devices - the Sapphire S616 and the Sapphire Life V787. The company in China announced that these smartphones carry a new technology called "Soft Blue". Soft Blue works in reducing the "blue light" coming from a screen by up to 86%. In doing so, the chances for having eye fatigue which is mostly because of that blue light, is decreased.
Philips Sapphire S616 features a 5.5 inch full HD display and a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by Android 5.1 and runs on a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek and Mali-T720 GPU. It has an inbuilt storage of 16GB, a 2GB RAM, and supports a microSD card of up to 128GB.
It showcases a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP wide angle "selfie" shooter front camera. Sapphire S616 is a dual sim capable smartphone that also comes with a removable 3000 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity; it supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and other standard connectivity options. Sapphire S616 is expected to go on sale this month and will be priced around 222 USD.
On the other hand, the Philips Sapphire V787 features a 5 inch full HD display and a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 with a 441 ppi pixel density. It is powered by Android 5.1 and runs on a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek. It has an inbuilt storage of 16GB, a 2GB RAM, and supports a microSD card of up to 128GB.
It also showcases a 13MP rear camera that has a Phase Detection Auto Focus which enables it to focus on a subject in just 0.2 seconds and a 5MP wide angle "selfie" shooter front camera. Sapphire V787 comes with a removable 5000 mAh battery which can provide up to 47 hours of talk time.
Sapphire V787, as of the moment, has no exact release date but it is expected to be out by the end of November. There is no announcement yet on how much it will cost as of the time of this writing.
