Samsung has finally announced the specs of Galaxy S Advance, a mid-range smartphone that's expected to fit the spot between the original Galaxy S and the new Galaxy S II.

The Galaxy S Advance boasts of curved design, 4-inch Super AMOLED display (480x800-pixel resolution), a dual-core 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera (for stills and videos) and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera (for video chats), HSPA 14.4 support, 768MB RAM, and up to 16GB of internal storage.

The device will be powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, which has Samsung's TouchWiz UI overlay. The Souh Korean electronics giant has not announced whether Galaxy S Advance will be upgraded to Androidn 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS soon.

The smartphone will initially launch in Russia in February, followed by CIS, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Latin America and China. Samsung did not say when the device will hit the U.S. market.
