The sleek ASUS ZenBook UX305 is now officially available for purchase in the U.S., launching at an aggressive price point of $699.
ASUS unveiled its ultra-thin ZenBook UX305 ultrabook back in January at the CES 2015 trade show, and the device has now officially gone on sale in the U.S.
The highlight of the ASUS ZenBook UX305 is its sleek and elegant design, as the ultrabook boasts a slim profile of just 0.48 inches and weighs in at just 2.6 lbs.
"A refined new shape that incorporates the DNA of the classic ZenBook gives the UX305 a subtle new wedge design with elegantly-tapered and smooth diamond-cut edges that emphasize the sleek ultra-thin chassis. The full-size ergonomic keyboard features an improved layout for comfortable and accurate typing coupled with a large responsive touchpad that supports Smart Gestures for precise control of Windows 8.1," ASUS touts in the press release.
"Continuing the long-established ZenBook tradition of combining performance with luxury, the gorgeous UX305 ultraportable, which weighs only 2.6lbs, is available in a sophisticated new Obsidian Stone color with ZenBook's signature spun-metal finish with its Zen-inspired concentric circle pattern."
In addition to its neat design, the ASUS ZenBook UX305 also comes with good specifications. The laptop sports a 13.3-inch IPS display that comes in two variants, one with a matte full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and the other with a QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. For now, however, only the FHD variant is available for sale.
Under the hood, the ZenBook UX305 packs an Intel Core M-DY10 dual-core processor that can run from 800MHz to 2.0GHz, paired with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage.
Other specifications include a 720p webcam, three USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, and the typical range of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet.
As previously mentioned, the full HD version of the ASUS ZenBook UX305 ultrabook is now available for purchase in the U.S. for $699. It remains unclear at this point, however, when the QHD+ variant with multi-touch will go on sale.
