Chinese device maker Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest flagships for 2015, introducing the powerful new Mi Note and Mi Note Pro phablets.

As the names themselves suggest, the Mi Note is the standard version, while the Mi Note Pro is more powerful, albeit both models pack high-end specifications.

Xiaomi Mi Note

The Xiaomi Mi Note comes with a 5.7-inch display from Sharp and JDI, sporting a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The front panel consists of a 2.5D glass, similar to the one Apple used for its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, while the back panel consists of a curved glass the company refers to as 3D. Both the front and the rear glass feature Gorilla Glass 3 protection for extra durability.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi Note packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. The handset comes in two configurations, with either 16GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity.

Other specs include a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, 6-element lens, optical image stabilization (OIS) and Philips two-tone flash on the rear, and a 4-megapixel front shooter with a 2-micron pixel sensor just like HTC's UltraPixel.

The new Xiaomi MI Note also features audio chips from ESS and Texas instruments, supporting lossless audio playback, while connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, Beidou, and more. Dual 4G SIM cards are in the mix as well.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro

When it comes to the higher-end model, the new Xiaomi Mi Note Pro boasts a QHD (2K) display with a resolution of 2550 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 551 pixels per inch (ppi), and packs a more powerful 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with a whopping 4GB of RAM. The ASUS ZenFone 2 recently launched as the world's first smartphone to rock 4GB of RAM, and the Mi Note Pro is now the second one.
