Google is celebrating one year of Chromecast with neat freebies, such as three months of All Access streaming music completely free of charge.
The Chromecast streaming dongle is now one year old, and a celebratory promotion from Google play and Chromecast now allows interested buyers to get the popular streaming dongle for virtually nothing. While it was already pretty cheap before with its $35 price tag, Chromecast now costs just $5 if you factor in the $30 worth of freebies.
Chromecast has proved to be wildly popular ever since it made its debut, topping Amazon's electronics best-seller list for a good while. Google is now offering a neat promotion that virtually cuts the price of the gadget to just $5. More specifically, interested buyers who purchase a $35 Chromecast streaming dongle by the end of September will get three months of Google Play Music All Access for free. The service is Google's answer to Spotify and Beats Music and it normally costs $9.99 per month. This means that this three-month free access amounts to $30, for a gadget that costs $35. Google Play Music All Access gives users unlimited access to as many as 25 million songs, without any annoying ads.
It's worth pointing out, however, that this promotion will only be applicable to those who never had a subscription to All Access. The deal also refers only to U.S. residents who have purchased Chromecast before Sept. 30, 2014. Prior to accessing or redeeming this offer, interested customers need to have purchased their Chromecast and set it up. Once you've set up the gadget, redeem the offer at this link.
Google ran a similar promotion last year upon launching Chromecast, offering three months of Netflix video streaming for free. The deal was such a great success that it sold out in a little more than 24 hours.
This time, Google Play Music All Access is the star of the show. Keep in mind that the offer involves three months of free access. At the end of this trial period, if you don't cancel the service, you will have to pay $9.99 per month. Once you've purchased a new Chromecast streaming dongle, Google will give you a code for this 90-day free trial of All Access. In order to be eligible for this offer, you have to set up your All Access account and redeem the code in question by Sept. 30, 2014.
