Instagram has rolled out its latest version adding some Photoshop-like tools, giving users 10 new features to try out for editing their photos.

While most users rely on Instagram to apply some filters and post photos of their food, Instagram wants to be more than that. With the newly-added features, Instagram now offers more options for those who want high-quality photo edits, not just a vintage filter on their dinner.

"We're delighted to bring you a set of new creative tools on Instagram with the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth and more," Instagram announced in a blog post.

"Inspiring creativity is incredibly important to us - and as the Instagram community grows, we've been excited to hear requests for more ways to creatively take hold of how photos look and feel."

"You take a photo to capture a moment, but often what you see in the photograph doesn't feel the same as what you remember. From brightening up a photo of your dinner party to better capturing the warmth of a sunset portrait, these new creative tools help you bring out and share the beauty of the moment as you remember it - right inside the same simple Instagram you already know."

Up until now, Instagram users had to rely mainly on preloaded filters to make changes. The ten new options, however, will now allow them to edit their photos independent of the filters.

Now, when users go to select a filter, they'll see a new wrench icon. Tapping on that icon will display a tray of editing tools to enhance their experience, including filter strength, brightness, contrast, warmth, saturation, adjusting (cropping, straightening), shadows, vignette, sharpening, and highlights. To adjust how much of a filter you want to apply, simply double-tap the filter icon.

More Instagram editing tools are reportedly en route to enhance the experience even further, and will be added to the app as soon as they are completed.
