The U.S. Google Play Store has finally added the new Nexus 7 LTE, offering the 32GB slate with a $349 price tag.
The refreshed version of Google's popular Nexus 7 tablet made by ASUS made its debut back in July this year. As customary for Google, the new Nexus 7 came out with a new version of the company's mobile operating system, rocking the very latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
While the LTE version of the Nexus 7 2013 reached other regions for a while now, U.S. customers were only left with the Wi-Fi version of the device. That's all about to change, as interested buyers can now purchase the new Nexus 7 LTE (32GB) directly from the Google Play Store.
"Starting today, Nexus 7 with 4G LTE is available for purchase on +Google Play in the US [https://goo.gl/YL7FBy] and will be coming to +T-Mobile stores in the US in October!" the company announced on Google+.
The second-generation of the ASUS-made Google Nexus 7 is a notable improvement over its predecessor, bringing several improvements. For those unfamiliar with the slate, the new Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch LCD HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi).
Other specs of the new Nexus 7 include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, both rear- and front-facing cameras and a 3,950 mAh battery. The previous model lacked a rear-facing camera and Google received criticism over it, but the new iteration packs a 5-megapixel rear shooter. A 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, meanwhile, will allow for self-shots and video chats.
The new Nexus 7 LTE version from the Google Play Store is unlocked as expected, but also comes with a T-Mobile SIM card that offers 2GB of free data for the first month. After that, users can either choose to sign up for a T-Mobile plan or go for another carrier.
The LTE version of the new Nexus 7 will work with the LTE networks of T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile's HSPA+ network and AT&T's 3G network will be supported as well. The tablet will not work, however, on Verizon's CDMA network.
