Good news for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) fans: Sony has just announced it will offer a PlayStation 3 (PS3) bundle packed with GTA 5.

The company offered a similar bundle for the previous iteration of the popular game, GTA 4, so the new announcement comes as a confirmation for what many already expected.

All in all, it seems that Sony is gearing up for a lucrative holiday shopping season. The company already confirmed the PlayStation 4 will launch in November and now the GTA 5 PS3 bundle is another option to spike up that Christmas list. GTA 5 is also set to launch on rival Xbox 360 in September, but Sony clearly wants to highlight that GTA 5 belongs on the PS3.

"Are you ready for Grand Theft Auto V? We wanted to celebrate the release of this groundbreaking game on September 17th in a big way," boasts Sony. "To mark the occasion we're releasing a brand new PlayStation 3 Grand Theft Auto V Bundle, a custom Grand Theft Auto V Pulse - Elite Edition headset and a custom audio mode!"

For a $299 MRSP, this new bundle will offer gamers a 500GB PlayStation 3, GTA 5 on Blu-ray, plus a 3-day PlayStation Plus trial membership. The custom Grand Theft Auto 5 Pulse Elite Edition headset, meanwhile, is specifically designed for GTA 5 in collaboration with RockStar Games and will become available on the same day, i.e. Sept. 17, exclusively at GameStop for $179.99. This means the headset is available separately, not included in the bundle as it may seem at a first glance.

"We are also introducing a specifically crafted audio experience for the PlayStation 3," adds the company's announcement. "The custom Grand Theft Auto V audio mode for Pulse - Elite Edition takes full advantage of the BassImpact technology embedded in the Pulse - Elite Edition headset to provide the ultimate Grand Theft Auto V experience. You can download the Grand Theft Auto V audio mode at no cost from the free Pulse - Elite Manager App. This exclusive mode enhances the game's most epic moments like car crashes, explosions and more."

Sony's certainly got a handle on the popular Grand Theft Auto and knows how to market it properly. Until September, check out the second trailer for GTA 5 to get you in the mood.
