After what seemed to be forever, Microsoft Windows Phone platform is finally getting Temple Run, one of the most popular games available for Android and iOS. The game is arriving a few months late, after it was promised to be in the Windows Phone Store by holiday season 2012.

However, this isn't the latest Temple Run 2 game, which is a bit disappointing, but it is better than nothing. Still, it's difficult not to mention that Temple Run first came out on iOS nearly two years ago, so users of Windows Phone devices are getting an old game — still fun, but old nonetheless.

In a world where Windows Phone is playing catch up, having Temple Run on the platform should have been a good thing, but not so when there's a new version out. The developer didn't specify whether or not Windows Phone users will have the chance to experience Temple Run 2, so only time will tell.

Luckily, there is some good news for Windows Phone gamers. Gravity Guy 2 is coming and it will grace the Windows Phone platform earlier than Android and iOS, according to The Verge. This is probably due to the title being Xbox Live-enabled, which means there will be plenty of content for Achievement Hunters to divulge in.

Other games such as 6th Planet, Propel Man, Orcs Must Survive, Ruzzle, Fling Theory and Drift Mania will find their way to the Windows Phone Store soon enough.

While it is good to see new content coming over to the Windows Phone Store, the games are still lacking. Better Xbox Live enabled games need to be in the store, games that are able to talk with other games on the Xbox 360 and future Xbox video game platform. Right now, Xbox games on Windows Phones feel like second-class citizens, and that needs to change.
