The long-awaited iOS 6, 6.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5 and all other non-jailbroken devices is coming sometime today, Monday, Feb. 4, team Evad3rs confirmed. It appears that the team has hard coded the progress bar of the jailbreak to reach its completion at 12:00 noon Feb. 4, 2013.
The speculated jailbreak arrival on the Super Bowl Sunday did not happen, following which team Evad3rs officially confirmed the release date through its Twitter account that said, "@Evad3rs: Final count down toward tomorrow's release has begun!"
The confirmation of the release date was echoed in a tweet by Planetbeing, who is a member of team Evad3rs, which said, "@Planetbeing: Yes, tomorrow is a concrete release date. It's also the only release date we've ever given."
The status bar on the official evasi0n.com site is currently showing the tool to be 95 percent complete. Doing the calculation, Redmondpie has noted that the status bar on the official Evasi0n Web site is moving up by 0.0045 percent every 30 seconds. If the progress continues with the same pace the iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak will be available for download by 9am Pacific Time or 12pm Eastern Time.
Predicting a possible release time by analyzing the confirmed date and the location of Evad3rs team members, Cammy Harbison of iDigitalTime said the jailbreak would come sometime between 12 am Monday morning California time and 3pm Monday afternoon California time.
Meanwhile, some Reddit users (smart ones) have come up with their calculations and according to a user's (Adam) calculations, "It's (the progress bar) increasing at ~0.0091/min which would make the release Noon EST tomorrow."
Using a java script algorithm, another user Zairex said, "I Just used Mathematica to calculate the value of all of these variables. As it turns out, when the 0x11c7 value is equal to 1359997200(00) the percentage is 100 percent. In Unix Time this value is exactly 12pm Noon EST 2/4/2013."
"The percentage on the @evad3rs website increases by 0.0091 every minute.. 0.0091 * 942M = 8.5%. 942/60 = 15.7 hours 91.5 + 8.5 = 100." EvilPenguin calculated.
Though the calculations excite the iPhone-crazy masses, the official Evasion Web site does not give an exact date or time for the release of the jailbreak. Answering a twitter query on the time for the jailbreak release, @planetebing just said, "when the button turns green."
