Logitech announced a new addition to its range of Bluetooth keyboards on Monday, Oct. 12, introducing the new Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810.

The K810 promises support for pairing multiple devices simultaneously via Bluetooth. When it comes to operating systems, the Logitech's new Bluetooth Illuminated keyboard supports Windows 8, iOS, and Android.

"The Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 features Logitech's easy-switch Bluetooth technology, meaning it can pair with as many as three devices simultaneously," reads the company's press release. "What's more, the keyboard's layout was designed for Windows 8 with shortcuts for instant access to the Start Screen and more, but it also works with Windows, iOS, and Android devices. You can easily move from typing on one to the other with the push of a button."

Logitech first introduced its Easy Switch technology on the K760. Each paired device can be assigned to one of the three function keys, enabling users to start typing on a device simply by pushing the corresponding button. For instance, a user can hook up the keyboard to a PC, a tablet, and a phone, and type on all of them.

"The Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 is sure to boost your productivity - letting you switch between all the devices you type on. And with clear lines, bright keys, and simple charging, it's a keyboard you can easily take anywhere," adds the press release.

The chassis of the new K810 is made of brushed aluminum, while the key backlighting is dynamically adjusted according to the ambient light in the room. Logitech also added a sensor that tracks whether the user's hands are nearby. If the user is not actually typing, the proximity sensor will detect that and turn off the backlight to save power. The backlight will kick in again when the sensor detects the user's hands hovering close by.

The K810 charges via USB, and can be used while plugged in as well. According to Logitech, its new Bluetooth keyboard will run for roughly ten days of average use on a single charge.

The Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 will become available in the United States in October, with a $99.99 price tag. European availability is slated for November, with a reported price of 99.99 euro.
