Now that the much-awaited Apple iPhone 16 is available in India from today on, quick commerce platforms are in a race to deliver more than just grocery and household items.
Big Basket, Blinkit, and Zepto have begun raising their stakes by promising 10-minute delivery of the newly launched iPhone 16 series right to customers' doorsteps.
Even if the battery replacement for the newest iPhone is expensive, it won't stop people from getting the trendiest handset on the planet at this hour.
Big Basket, owned by Tata, said that this is the fastest way to deliver the iPhone 16 series to customers, according to Gadgets 360. It is working with Croma for this speed. Also competing with other entities will be Blinkit, which has tied up with Unicorn stores so that it can deliver the iPhone 16 in these select areas, too, all well within that window of one hour.
Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced that the platform has begun delivering iPhone 16 units through its tie-up with Unicorn stores. In this way, customers will get special deals and discounts, along with even EMI options.

That's not the first time Blinkit is doing that. Blinkit began delivering iPhones back when the iPhone 14 series came out in the market.
Blinkit began taking pre-bookings for iPhone 16 at 8 am and sold 300 units within 4 hours; the company also made its first delivery to a customer in Bengaluru within just seven minutes of selling the product at 8 am.

Not to be left behind, Zepto also jumped into the delivery of the iPhone 16. The platform announced that it is delivering the iPhone 16 series in major cities, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai which will arrive within 10 minutes.
The added attraction comes in the form of sweet deals, in which the bank is offering a discount of ₹5000 on iPhone 16, to be credited flat on all eligible cards of Bank of Baroda, RBL Bank, and AU Small Finance Bank. This aggressive push on speedy delivery along with these sweet offers is sure to catapult Zepto as the winner of the iPhone-16 delivery race.
The challenge has now turned into a race, as Big Basket, Blinkit, and Zepto are competing against each other. Suddenly, the contest is no longer how many units will be delivered but who will deliver an iPhone 16 the fastest.
The three new platforms, which had won fame by providing groceries and grocery staples at record-time deliveries, have now bet their fortunes on winning over the tech enthusiasts who want the latest from Apple in ultra-fast delivery.
Apart from the iPhone 16, these quick commerce platforms have also started delivering other electronic devices, such as the Galaxy S24 series and PlayStation 5, within just 10 minutes. This marked the change of e-commerce: two things speed and convenience became inevitable selling points for customers.
This tide of 10-minute delivery in high-demand products such as the iPhone 16 ushers a new era in e-commerce. As biggies such as Big Basket, Blinkit, and Zepto push the boundaries, it will not be long before consumers enjoy fast access not just to groceries and essentials but premium electronic goods also.
As competition heats up, it is all too apparent that the quick-commerce platforms are keen to redefine the way we shop. Be it a late-night grocery item or the latest iPhone, consumers can get what they want when they want all in record time.
