Vivo is reportedly gearing up to take the wraps off a brand new smartphone in its lauded V5 series.

Vivo has been on a roll recently, releasing the Vivo V5 in 2016 and the V5 Plus earlier this year, but it looks like the company has more aces up its sleeve, if the recent invite is anything to go by. The Dongguan, China-based handset manufacturer is all set to announce the Vivo V5s smartphone in India this month -- on April 27, to be precise.

Vivo has already started sending out media invites of the upcoming Vivo V5s smartphone launch, throwing more light on the specs and some elements of the impending device. Here's a rundown of the Vivo V5s smartphone's rumored specifications and price.

Vivo V5s Specifications & Features

Following in the footsteps of the previously launched models, the Vivo V5s is expected to arrive as a selfie-centric smartphone. The new Vivo phone is likely to retain an array of specifications of its precursor, the Vivo V5.

The V5s will sport a metal unibody form factor with a 5.5-inch HD display, which features a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on top, according to PhoneRadar (via Gadgets 360). Under the hood, the V5s is likely to pack the same MT6750 chipset with 4GB of RAM like the V5.

The Vivo V5s will be launching with the hashtag #PerfectSelfie, meaning, the upcoming smartphone will be trotting out its front snapper, which is likely to be a colossal 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture -- it's worth noting, though, this is again similar to the V5. As far as the main camera is concerned, the Vivo V5s will come with a 13MP camera with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture.

The dual-SIM Vivo V5s will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery. Its dimensions are 153.8x75.5x7.55mm and it weighs in at 154 grams. Moreover, the device will offer 64GB of expandable (up to 128GB via MicroSD) internal storage.

The Vivo V5s will be running the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with FunTouch OS 2.6 running atop. In terms of connectivity, it will offer a Micro-USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm port, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE, according to BGR.

Vivo V5s Price

Vivo is likely to spill the beans about the pricing and retailer availability of the V5s sooner rather than later, but taking the price of the V5 into consideration, which is INR 17,500 (about $271), the Vivo V5s is likely to come bearing a price tag of about INR 18,990 (about $294). Tech Radar suggests the device will be up for grabs in a new Matte Black color variant.
