“Mr. Robot” Season 3 has been renewed, but the techno-thriller “geopolitical realities” TV series has no release date yet. However, in between season 2 and 3, the cast and crew of the show would take an extended hiatus.
Recharging Batteries
The long break aims to recharge the batteries of “Mr. Robot” stars and crew as well as address some structural issues, Den of Geek reports. Sam Esmail, creator of the show, says taking breaks in between seasons and returning on air after some time is another weird and archaic judgment on TV shows that these must return at a certain schedule at the risk of losing their loyal viewers. He says the conventional seasonal show structures cost the show’s quality.
The quality that Esmail is protecting was recognized when “Mr. Robot” Season 1 won the Best Television Series at the 2016 Golden Globes Awards. Actor Christian Slater (Eduard) got The Best Performance by an Actor award. Lead actor Rami Malek (Elliot) won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, one of the six Primetime Emmy nominations the show received.
Meanwhile, IBT reports that Elliot is “bound to accept that Eduard is not going anywhere in the upcoming season of ‘Mr. Robot.’” The failure of the hacker to get rid of his father’s memory is because Edward could not be removed from his psyche. Elliot attempted to flee from his hallucinations the past seasons, but he eventually realized that the controlling Mr. Robot represented the father that Elliot lost.
Leaked Script
Edward pushed Elliot more into evil acts, but Elliot battled the pressure. He also continued to consult Krista (Gloria Reuben), the therapist appointed by the court. According to a leaked script from “Mr. Robot” Season 3, Krista would be back to help him. While Elliot’s disassociative identity disorder makes his downward fall inevitable, he would find Leon (Joey Badas$$) who would lead him to the light at the dark tunnel’s end, Esmail says.
