Romantics who fell in love with 2003's "Love Actually" will finally find out what happened next to some of their beloved characters. Recent reports circulating the internet have revealed that most of the cast have agreed to film a sequel for the hit rom-com.
According to the BBC, the sequel, titled "Red Nose Day Actually," will be penned by Richard Curtis. The 10-minute sequel will star Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, and Colin Firth. The sequel will also feature Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, and Rowan Atkinson.
Martine McCutcheon, Andrew Lincoln, Lucia Moniz, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Olivia Olson will also be reprising their roles. "Red Nose Day Actually" will air on Friday, March 24, on BBC One. The 10-minute sequel will finally air 14 years after "Love Actually" was released.
Curtis shared, "I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to." He adds, "We hope to make something that'll be fun - very much in the spirit of the original film and of Red Nose Day."
The writer was also "delighted" that most of the original cast members agreed to return. Curtis concluded, "It'll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together."
However, not all of the actors and actresses have confirmed their return for the "Love Actually" sequel. The Telegraph has revealed that Emma Thompson, Kris Marshall, Laura Linney, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Martin Freeman were not included in the list of returning cast members.
Meanwhile, a spokesman shared that "some original cast members were juggling prior work commitments." Alan Rickman, who played Thompson's husband, passed away last year.
