By now, it is pretty obvious that "Supernatural" is trying to move from one story to next. And, there is a reason behind it. The showrunners want fans to develop all major characters portrayed in the show. For instance, we see how well "Supernatural" season 12 episode 11 "Regarding Dean" showcased the character of Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles). Similarly, the tenth episode focused on Castiel (Misha Collins).
However, Collins noted in an interview with TVLine that there is more coming up for his character as "Supernatural" season 12 meets to its end.
"The pursuit of Kelly and her spawn turns into a transformative experience for Castiel, and that is meant with every possible type of entendre. We're going to see a new iteration of Cas coming up," he noted.
By the looks of it, we are about to see some exciting action coming up for Collin's character in "Supernatural" season 12's remaining episodes. We cannot confirm which episode will feature his role with an extensive portrayal, but Collins does note us of his role as Castiel to have major effects in the season finale.
It is seen at times that "Supernatural" doesn't seem to feature his character with better continuity. One of the reasons behind it is reportedly of him taking time off due to the filming of his upcoming movie "Timeless."
Other than this, we are also excited about Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) in "Supernatural" season 12. In addition, fans would love to see the Monster of the Week plots as well which are famous for their comic relief. If similar excitement and story build-up continue, fans will easily get along untill the end of the season without any worries.
Announcement on CW's approval for "Supernatural" season 13 has also come into the limelight and it has excited fans. The season will start airing this fall which has certainly given fans more excitement this year.
