If latest reports are to be believed, the next massive "Pokemon GO" update by Niantic will contain Gen 2 Pocket Monsters. This is definitely great news for fans as they have been waiting eagerly for the Gen 2 Pokemon for quite some time. Moreover, fans will also have something to remain glued to the game app once the "Pokemon GO" Valentine's Day event is over. Reports have claimed that Niantic has made changes to the game's master code, a clear sign that the Gen 2 Pocket Monsters are coming to the game.
According to Express, tweaks to the Candy Evolution code have also been made. A plethora of "Pokemon GO" new moves have already been added and some of these could be used to launch new Pocket Monsters. It has also been reported that Pokemon outside the original 151 have been given an ID corresponding to whatever Index number they have been given. This could indicate a big change as it's the first update in this part of the game. Rather than simply reading Pokemon ID 152, now it's full name of Pocket Monster such as Chikorita.
Despite such reports, Niantic hasn't yet confirmed the changes and hence, everything must be taken with a pinch of salt. Data miners have confirmed that whenever Niantic chooses to release the Gen 2 Pokemon, it will be a big event. There's a host of new features found in the game's code and they can be activated real soon. According to GO Hub, Niantic has been rewriting the code base and re-innovating the game.
Rather, it has not been building a game but a platform. Many believe that Gen 2 will be the Gold and Silver of "Pokemon GO." Niantic has done a tremendous amount of work by adding lots of features.
