"Travelers" Season 1 must have plucked the heartstrings of its audience as today Netflix revealed that the sci-fi series will be making a comeback for its second season. Being the sixth of its kind in the current string of shows on TV, "Travelers" is pegged to struggle to compete with other series with the same theme. However, with its release days before the new year, the Netflix series overwhelmed the expectations of many and lured a following with its great storyline.
"Travelers" Season 2 will be airing on Netflix, as reported by TVLine. Add to that, Eric McCormack remains to be the sci-fi drama's lead star. Eric McCormack has already blocked off his schedule to accommodate the production for the new season of the show. This, despite the preparations for the revival of the upcoming 10-episode Will & Grace series.
When asked about the show, Eric McComack revealed how proud he is to be part of it and he was blown away by the success of the series, especially the opportunity to get close with the young characters he has worked with.
The time travel sci-fi series is a collab between Netflix and Showcase Canada. The release date for the second season is still unknown but production for the show is set to start in March in Vancouver. As revealed by Deadline, Showcase Canada will be showing the sci-fi show this fall and Netflix will carry "Travelers" Season 2 globally, right after.
"Travelers" Season 2 will also have the creator and writer Brad Wright as the showrunner. Other stars who signed up to return for the second season are Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman, Patrick Gilmore, Nesta Cooper and Mackenzie Porter. The second edition of "Travelers" will expand the original concept making the characters realize their missions may have changed the future in ways they did not expect.
