Ubisoft has now released the Year 2 Pass big update for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege", with tons of new content and lots of changes to the game. Operation Velvet Shell introduces a new map and two new Operators.
The map named Coastline is free for all players while the new pair of Operators is exclusively available for Year 2 season pass owners for now. For those who badly want to own the Operators, they will able to buy them next week with either a real-world money or in-game currency. Coastline map for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" features the new "Two-Layer Destruction" system and according to Ubisoft, it will be present in all future maps.
The system is made up of the usual set-up, with an Attacker and a Defender. The Attacker is called Jackal who uses a gadget mounted on his head with an ability to see enemy footprints on the ground. The Defender is called Mira and is capable of installing a bulletproof window in walls, and even through reinforced ones.
Mira creates a rectangular hole without destroying the wall and proficiently leaves the wall intact. By doing this, the team will be able to see approaching enemies without concealing their own position. The window can be removed to allow a gap for a player to get a shot. Velvet Shell also comes with new weapon skins and Elite sets.
The main menu is also revamped to make it more user-friendly. On the game balancing area, there are several bug fixes that are implemented, and weapon sights are identically positioned regardless of the gun the player is using.
