The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to dominate the hybrid device market in 2017. It is rumored to be released in April and the device will sport admirable performance capabilities, sleek design and raw power. An Intel Kaby Lake processor and up to 16GB RAM are expected in the Surface Pro 5. Moreover, the hybrid could have a greatly improved battery and a rechargeable Surface Pen. Apart from these rumored specs, a lot is being said about the Surface Dial, the accessory that was first introduced in the Surface Studio.
According to Alphr, the Surface Dial allows users to interact with the computer via twists and taps. It will be interesting to see the kind of Surface Dial support Microsoft is planning for the Surface Pro 5. The device is expected to be revealed at the MWC 2017 and then go on sale in April. The Surface Pro 5 will come with the Windows 10 Creators Update. In terms of pricing, Microsoft is unlikely to increase the price too much over the Surface Pro 4. The Surface Pros are already expensive devices. Hence, a price rise seems unlikely at this point.
While rumors point to a marked increase in battery capacity of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, it is highly likely that the hybrid device will have a 4K screen. However, some experts disagree on this feature as 4K capabilities may not be essential on a tablet. Even if Microsoft surprises everyone with a 4K screen, it will only be in the premium-most variant. There have also been reports of a Surface Pen that, when docked to the device, will charge automatically. The stylus will remain attached to the device magnetically.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is definitely one of the most-exciting hybrid devices coming to the tech market in 2017. Naturally, tech enthusiasts are eager to get their hands on the device. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the Surface Pro 5.
