With the heavily-speculated Apple iPhone 8, slated to win the world in September on iPhone's 10th anniversary, fans can't wait any longer to get their hands on the tech marvel. However, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is coming too and it's a crucial year for Samsung. It looks to make its fans forget about the Galaxy Note 7 disaster by introducing a stunning, premium device that will set the stage on fire. What eludes Apple fans is the fact that the Galaxy S8 has a greater task to accomplish than the iPhone 8 and hence will go harder on Apple.

According to Forbes, by the time the Apple iPhone 8 comes out with a curved OLED display, the technology will already be familiar to Samsung and certain other phone manufacturers. Samsung Galaxy S8, along with Apple, will share the same components from Samsung Display. Even though the Google Pixel 2 is expected to arrive a month later than the iPhone 8, the Galaxy S8, with its curved OLED screen, should be out by April; nearly five months before iPhone 8's release.

Therefore, Apple needs to compensate this time gap with state-of-the-art features and specs that won't be present in the Galaxy S8. Samsung is sure to promote its tech marvel vehemently for the five months to gain advantage over Apple. Fans are hoping a number of new technologies in the Apple iPhone 8. Even though the iPhones are able to stand out from its competition due to a different operating system, iOS, much of the technologies are already found off-the-shelf" in supply chains.

Apple is always in a strong position as it designs its own processors. However, they too need fabrication and are sent to factories that also handle competitor chips. Coming back to the OLED chips, iPhone 8's underlying visual technology will be familiar to the competition way before the flagship is released. The only differences with the Galaxy S8 could be in terms of screen size, aspect ratio and ppi values. Both the flagships are expected to sport edge-to-edge displays. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be at an advantage over the Apple iPhone 8.
