Microsoft is expected to release the Surface Pro 5 in 2017 and speculations are running riot on the Internet. It is already the subject of comparison with other top laptops in the market. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the Surface hybrid fares against Lenovo Miix 510. Of course the Surface Pro 5 will pack in more power with better hardware specs and Surface devices have been able to establish strong goodwill with some excellent products. The Miix 510, on the other hand, has a lot of positioning flexibility. It's definitely the more affordable option.

According to CNET, the Lenovo Miix 510 has an excellent backlit keyboard cover, which is not present in Surface Pro 4. It's not known whether such a keyboard is coming to Surface Pro 5. Moreover, Lenovo Miix 510 takes a lot of design and feature cues from the Surface Pro line of products. Its design is pretty much the same as Surface Pro 4. Miix 510 has a 12.2-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 touch display, 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U, 8GB RAM, 128MB (dedicated) Intel HD Graphics 520, 256GB storage and Windows 10 OS.

However, it is still a good decision to wait till the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is released. With all leaked specs and speculations doing rounds, it seems Microsoft is coming up with a revolutionary device. The Surface Pro 4 went hard on Lenovo Miix 510 but also stumbled against some newer features and lower price of the Lenovo device. Another model of Miix 510 sports a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. You can view the full list of Miix 510 specs here. Surface Pro 5 will most likely go with the Intel Kaby Lake processors.

They will provide considerable speed and graphics improvement. Kaby Lake chipsets will also help in overcoming Surface Pro's biggest drawback, its battery. A spring 2017 release is most likely for the Surface Pro 5 device as it will correspond with the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update. An upgraded Surface Pen with wireless charging tech may also be included. There are some big improvements on the cards and one of them is an upgraded Touch Screen panel that will operate more fluidly and accurately with both hands and the Surface Pen.

A resolution bump to 4K is also very much possible. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on Surface Pro 5 and Lenovo Miix 510 upgrades.
