Google Pixel and Pixel XL were a success for sure. They brought stunning new features and attributes albeit with a big price tag but that did not discourage people from indulging in the phone. Now, the news and release date of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are being routed in the market. News has it that these upcoming phones will get a waterproof body and compete with handsets of its competitors, Apple and Samsung.
Galaxy S8 was the first water resistant smartphone released by tech giant Samsung in 2013. However, the feature was removed in Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. This removal of feature did not go well with the users of the phone and Samsung had to bring back this feature along with the microSD expansion slot in Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
Apple also brought this feature into use in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and showed an advertisement to showcase this feature exclusively. Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL2 are reported to "definitely" feature this amazing feature which will provide protection in case of accidents. LG too, is adding the waterproofing feature to its upcoming flagship phone, the LG G6.
"Little tidbit we were told in October last year that I forgot about: 'Waterproofing definitely coming with next Pixel device,'" tweeted Stephen Hall of 9To5Google.
One of the common feature demanded by users in their reviews about the Google Pixel and Pixel XL was a waterproof design. Hence, it only seems logical that the company will try to please the haters by adding that one highly sought attribute. Google actually originally wanted the first gen Pixel smartphones to also be waterproof but it was dropped because there was an "internal conflict between hardware (namely, camera) and/or waterproofing vs. price point."
In the meantime, Google is also allegedly testing lower-end Pixel models which would have lesser advanced specs and hence, would come with a much more affordable price tag. The cameras of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will also master low light photography added to its impressive list of features.
