After a remarkable career as a professional wrestler and a critically acclaimed Hollywood actor, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson looks forward to try his luck at comic book movies and video games. By the looks of his latest projects as seen on IMDb, Johnson gives us an indication of his future plans in the cinematic world.

When it comes to action sequences, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is absolutely linked to them. His imposing performance in the movie "Furious 7" tells us all about it. And, more over-the-top action sequences are expected from the great actor in the "Fate of the Furious" as well.

Viewers are already familiar with the condition of movies based on video games. They have not been well received or are just considered average over the time. But, this might actually change with Dwayne Johnson backing them up. A recent reports notes of The Rock ready to play a role in an upcoming movie called "Rampage" which is based on a popular arcade game of the 80s. Not to mention, his iconic role as Black Adam in the movie "Shazam" is also under production.

The storyline of the movie "Rampage" will featre Johnson as a character who fights huge sized monsters. The video game-based movie is still in the pre-production period but is billed for a release in 2018. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be accompanied by Naomie Harris from "Skyfall" in the movie playing the role of a geneticist.

Those who follow The Rock's filmography list would know that this isn't his first video game movie. Johnson did play the lead role in the first-person shooter game-based movie "Doom" which came in 2005. The movie was not well received, but we do keep our hopes high for "Rampage."

Other than "Rampage" and "Shazam," Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also scheduled to appear in a reboot of the movie "Jumanji." Dwayne's "Baywatch" and "The Fate of the Furious" will be coming up this year as well.
