As gaming fans anticipate the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6," players take time to look back at some of the best "GTA" games of all time." GTA V" tops this list since it is the latest and updated offering of the game franchise.

It has been almost two decades since the first "GTA" game came out and the franchise still continues to provide quality gaming with its over 12 titles, Kotaku noted. Here are some of the top "GTA" offerings of all time:

1. "Grand Theft Auto V"

It was added in the Kotaku report that this gaming title is considered to be the best that "GTA" has introduced to its fans and players. What makes it stand out are the accurate details that developer Rockstar Games added to the title. Players even have the ability to read labels of cereal boxes, bum and knock down traffic cones and even enjoy the sight of wild animals.

It's not a shock that "GTA V" was one of the Steam bestsellers for last year, said US Gamer. It joined other popular titles like "Fallout 4," "Rocket League" and "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt."

2. "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City"

Released in 2009, this release was a separate video compilation of "GTA IV." Steam indicated that the offering does not require players to own a copy of "GTA IV." It also includes "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and "The Lost and Damned." Both episode expansions explore a different story of the game's characters.

3. "Grand Theft Auto IV"

This game, which was made available for Xbox 360 and PS3 players, offered a serious environment for the players. Many fans were torn between this new feature and the wild offering that "GTA" was known for with its earlier releases. However, many still loved the combat strategies introduced in the "GTA IV."
