The "Uncharted" movie is making some serious develpment with the addition of new director Shawn Levy and the writer Joe Carnahan. Levy is known for helming "Real Steel," "Night at the Museum" and Netflix's "Stranger Things."
"I've been more concerned with this project for years," he claimed as reported by GameSpot.. "It's as cinematic a game as we've had ever made, certainly of late. And it's cinematic because it's not only kind of wildly visual but it's really unique in terms of the characters and has a very specific ideas and a sense of fun." Levy further claimed that the "Uncharted" movie will be one of 2017's upcoming hits according to Collider.
The director was chosen to helm the "Uncharted" movie at the end of October 2016. The movie was first handed to"The Fighter's" David O. Russell, but he declined. Actor Seth Gordon and Director Neil Burger were also considered to direct the movie, while "Superbad" writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were reportedly courted to write the script years ago.
Meanwhile, the "Uncharted" movie writer Joe Carnahan recently claimed that he is done with the movie script. He mentioned that the movie is extremely cool than anything else, and will blow the audience's minds when they watch the upcoming movie.
Sony wants to hurry the "Uncharted" movie progress, though a release date has not yet been announced. "Uncharted" movie was first unveiled in 2009, only for it to repeatedly fall apart. Actors such as Robert De Niro, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, and Mark Wahlberg were allegedly considered for the movie's lead roles GameSpot reported.
