"Pacific Rim: Uprising" is definitely under way and John Boyega photos in his Jaeger suit have spread online. The second installment of the hit movie will soon be in theaters next years however, set photos of the next movie have excited the fans to watch the sequel the earliest time possible. So, here are some of the news and updates regarding the film.

"Pacific Rim 2" will still have Star Wars' John Boyega who will be playing the role of Duke, Idris Elba's son. In the first installment of the movie, Idris Elba played the character of Stacker Pentecost. However, her character died in the film. What is interesting is that there was no mention of a son in the first film. Meanwhile, Mako Mori played by Rinko Kikuchi is set to return for the film.

In the "Pacific Rim 2" sequel, Newton Geisler and Gottlieb, played by Charlie Day and Burn Gorman, will be reprising their roles while Scott Eastwood and Cailee Spaney will be joining the movie as well. Unfortunately, the lead star of the film, Charlie Hunnam, will not be returning as Raleigh Becket due to his busy schedule. Karl Urban also denied that he will be part of the sequel, to the disappointment of his fans.

Ramin Djawadi who was the original soundtrack composer of the first movie will also not return for the second installment of the film. Instead, John Paesano will do the compositions for the movie, the same way he did for "Daredevil" on Netflix. The new director of the movie will be Steven DeKnight who will be replacing Guillermo del Toro, who directed the 2013 film. Del Toro remained as a producer, however.
