“Arrow” Season 5 has taken the show back to its grittier roots. The fantasy aspect of the DC series is still palpable, but the darker focus on Star City has returned.
In the show’s midseason finale, the team was thrown several curveballs. Diggle, who was on the run from the military prior to getting caught, was framed for a crime that he did not commit. Artemis, a new recruit to the team, betrayed them all. Plus, both Oliver and Felicity are still trying to get over the death of Detective Malone, who happens to be the latter’s boyfriend.
A recent clip of the next episode of “Arrow” Season 5 will provide more answers regarding the surprising return of Laurel Lance, who is also known as the Black Canary. This one of the biggest twists before the show ended the first half of its fifth season. When Oliver returned to the Arrow cave, he found Laurel, who, in turn, does not recall any events that preceded prior to her “death,” as pointed out by Screen Rant.
Despite the mystery that shrouds Laurel’s return to life, Oliver was shown confiding to Diggle about her resurrection as “some kind of gift.” Her death had a major impact to the Arrowverse. Almost everyone was deeply affected by her loss. The team was just starting to move on with their lives, when Laurel suddenly pops back in. Oliver, played by Stephen Amell, has attributed her resurrection to “time travel” as a result of when Barry changed their reality through the Flashpoint timeline.
“Arrow” Season 5 Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim revealed a very interesting detail regarding the upcoming episode. “The episode ends with laying a very specific seed with a very specific game part on our part that we hope to see come to fruition,” he said.
It remains unclear specifically what this “seed” is, but a previous report has pointed out that it might have something to do with Katie Cassidy’s contract with the Arrowverse. According to the source, Cassidy was recently signed to be a regular on all four Arrowverse shows.
