We are still a week away before Barry Allen, along with his team at the S.T.A.R. Laboratories, faces enemies Savitar and a new villain, Plunder, in "The Flash" Season 3. However, Barry and his friends might not face them alone since their old friend and the ex-fiancé of Caitlyn Snow, Ronnie Raymond, is reported to be coming back to Central City, in some way.

EW reported that actor Robbie Amell's character Ronnie Raymond will be returning for its winter episode in "The Flash Season 3." Details of his character remain a mystery as of this writing. Ronnie Raymond disappeared during the Particle Accelerator explosion, causing him and Dr. Martin Stein to merge and become the Nuclear Man, FireStorm. He then disappears again during the first episode of season 2 as they were helping The Flash close the singularity.

However, later on in season 2, Robbie Amell had a guest appearance, but as the doppleganger of Ronnie Raymond on Earth 2. The duplicate also has nuclear power but was named Deathstorm and was killed by the evil speedster Zoom. In Amell's return for "The Flash" Season 3, he won't return as Deathstorm nor Firestrom since Dr. Stein is currently in the wave rider with the Legends. However, there is a possibility he might be from another universe and help Caitlyn Snow tame her inner Killer Frost.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for the mid-season premiere of "The Flash Season 3" was also released. Barry Allen is tormented by what he has seen in the future where Iris was murdered by Savitar. After that, a criminal named Plunder comes in and shows up in Central City. Barry then recalls his presence in this vision of the future as he fears that if he catches Plunder it will make Iris' fate permanent.

Aside from Ronnie's return, Gorilla Grodd is also confirmed to make a comeback, after he was banished to Earth 2's Gorilla City in season 2. In the comic, he is often seen fighting with Solovar who his similar to him in terms of enhanced intelligence for control. "The Flash" Season 3 returns on Jan. 24, 2017, Tuesday, on the CW Network.
