Codemasters' single-player video game "DiRT Rally," playable on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is reportedly getting full PlayStation VR support in the coming weeks. The VR compatibility upgrade will be made available via a standalone DLC Add-On and the upgrade cost will be $13. The VR mode will be reportedly supported every discipline, every route and every car in the game.

According to PRESS START, the PS4 "DiRT Rally" PlayStation VR DLC will have a brand new co-driver mode, also known as the co-op multiplayer mode, for the rally sections of the game. This is an important addition as it will allow a second player to use the DualShock 4 touchpad and buttons to provide pace note calls to the driver from the social screen. The PlayStation VR mode will provide "a fully immersive off-road experience."

Codemasters will also offer another new physical version of "DiRT Rally" that will pack the game along with the PlayStation VR DLC. The price of this package has not been released yet. The developer has just released a trailer (provided below) that provides a taste how the rally race will be like from a cockpit perspective. Of course, comparing the experience with that of a VR headset is uncalled for.

As per Game Spot, "DiRT Rally" also offers VR support for PCs though the PS4 version will also provide a special multiplayer feature. A Twitter feed from the official "DiRT" account has however stated that this feature will only be available in the PS4 version and there are no plans to bring this to PC or anywhere else.
