Japanese fans of the long-running manga "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" recently got their first look at the official character photo for Jōsuke Higashikata. The character will be portrayed by Kento Yamazaki in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of the anime and manga franchise.
ComicBook reports that the film's Japanese official website revealed actor Kento dressed in Jōsuke's one-of-a-kind purple suit and a meticulously coiffed hairstyle. The film is currently filming in Japan after it wrapped up production in Sitges, Spain. The release of Jōsuke's stylish character photo followed the unveiling of the teaser trailer that was released in December 2016.
The manga that the live-action film is based on was penned by Hirohiko Araki and published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" anime was produced by David Production in October 2012. The franchise focuses on the Joestar family, and each family member has a unique ability that is used to battle supernatural enemies.
The upcoming "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" live-action film will feature the latest story arc where Jōsuke finds out that he is the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar. Those who are new to the world of the Joestars can get acquainted with the series by tuning in to Crunchyroll, which is currently streaming the anime's "Diamond is Unbreakable" arc. Those who wish to read the original "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" manga in English can buy volumes published by Viz Media.
Meanwhile, Anime News Network has previously reported that the teaser video for the live-action film showed off its accomplished cast. The video featured Kento ("Your Lie in April") along with Ryunosuke Kamiki ("Howl's Moving Castle") as Kōichi Hirose, Nana Komatsu ("Kin Kyori Renai") as Yukako Yamagishi, Masaki Okada ("Hana-Kimi") as Keichō Nijimura, Mackenyu ("Chihayafuru") as Okuyasu Nijimura, Takayuki Yamada ("Gantz") as Anjūrō Katagiri, Yusuke Iseya (Rurouni Kenshin Part II: Kyoto Inferno") as Jōtarō Kūjō, Alisa Mizuki ("Doraemon: Nobita no Space Heroes") as Tomoko Higashikata and Jun Kunimura ("Attack on Titan") as Ryōhei Higashikata.
