The power of today's technology is impressive, however, there are times when it will reach its limits. This will cause some things to go wrong instead and one of which is allowing hackers to gain access by using cameras. from laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.

The idea may seem a bit impossible however, these are all true. Some people can use the webcam as a tool to blackmail users and to give a closer glimpse about the intimate part of life they have. It's not only hackers who are taking advantage if the situation but also, it can be security services who are tracking some specific person. Either way, the victims are clueless about what's happening.

Sadly, it captures compromising situations such as undressing. This move is used to allow hackers spy on some people or have the videos and photos saved and sell in the sexual sites.

While these occurrences are usual in laptops, it can also happen to baby monitors such as Android and iOS devices. The number one way to make spying on camera able is by utilizing a Trojan horse malware. These seemingly harmless files are actually malicious codes that can serve as a backdoor to the device the owner is using. (via DigitalSpy)

The owner's life doesn't need to be extra interesting as celebrities and each of us should be aware that everyone could be a target, as per Norton. However, this can be resolved by firstly running the device with an anti-virus software. This is applicable for laptops when looking and stopping malware prior to inviting unwanted watchers.

Next solution would be to remove the external webcam if possible. And lastly, covering the cam itself with some sort of sticky tape or post-it note can help stop anyone from spying. This step may sound funny but this one is applied personally by Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg as obviously, it would definitely stop someone from doing something unwanted.
