2017 is one of the biggest in the history of gaming. There are numerous highly anticipated titles on the way and some have been on the waiting list of release for almost a decade. Check out some of this year's top games that are expected to have a massive impact on the gaming community.

05. Resident Evil: Biohazard

With an initial release of January 24, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" comes at the perfect time. The Alternative Press notes that the title could be the series' saving grace. After the last two installments in the "Resident Evil" series, "Biohazard" appears to pick up on the signature survival horror that the games are known for.

04. God of War

"God of War" is undeniably one of the hottest titles that fans are talking about these days. The highly anticipated installment in the series will feature Kratos, the main protagonist, in a whole new level: he is now a father.

Earlier last month, director Cory Barlog revealed on Twitter that things are doing well within the development team. Responding to a fan who asked if rumors about the team not yet finished with shooting are true, Barlog said "most" of the scenes that needed to be shot have been completed.

03. Kingdom Hearts 3

The truth is, there is no official word regarding the exact release of "Kingdom Hearts 3." Square Enix has only confirmed that "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" will be out by January 24. On the other hand, Attack of the Fanboy notes that fans are hopeful that the sequel will arrive soon.

The hype for "Kingdom Hearts 3" only got more intense after a trailer for "KH2.8" feature some footage for the upcoming sequel. While fans are looking forward to a 2017 release, it may be best to wait for the developer to make official announcements before making conclusions.

02. Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar has officially confirmed that the much awaited sequel to "Red Dead Redemption" is coming fall of this year. The sequel does deserve to be included in the top 2017 games lists around and fans can breathe in relief since "Red Dead Redemption 2" will land on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in a couple of months. More details about the title are expected to be unveiled during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), kicking off June 13.

Topping all other 2017 games is "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The action-adventure title's official 2017 release date has yet to be announced but fans are already going crazy over the game.

The Daily Express says it appears that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be rolled out on the Wii U sometime March. However, there is still no sure word about its launch on the Nintendo Switch.
