Facebook has finally introduced a set of emoticons to its web chat option. It was possible earlier to create a smile but now there is a set of the most common emoticons added in the chat window.

Facebook has introduced a menu of the most common emoticons with a new smiley showing a "thumbs up" emoticon that users normally see as the Like button. The social networking company is trying to open its network for children under-13 years old and this can be a great step towards it. As this network is connecting more than 900 million users all over the world, introducing emoticons can be a good way to avoid language barriers.

There are only 21 emoticons at the moment including an attractive 'Like' smiley. Other notable emoticons are devil, like and heart smiley. Users can see the text code of these smileys by clicking on one of them. Using celebrity or friend's face as emoticon is still available.
