Capcom defended its decision to swerve from tradition in "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" and made something new instead of a reboot. Gamers soon found themselves facing a different feel when they played the game and developers said that it is for the good of the whole franchise.

"Resident Evil 7" producer Masachika Kawata told Game Informer that they aim to return to humble beginnings of the franchise. It is like hitting two birds with a stone for Capcom since they also incline for a fresh start of the whole story and narrative. The said game is simply a tempting scapegoat for Capcom to work on a clean slate.

Kawata said that players who were able to gain access in recent demo versions have initial feeling that "Resident Evil 7" is a reboot. However, after few scenes and going deeper into the gameplay, they began to realize that this is something else. A new approach to the old twist, nostalgic yet fresh for would-be fans.

Producer Kawata also stressed that "Resident Evil 7" shares the same horror, exploration, combat and puzzles to that of predecessors. However, gamers will soon discover that the game is more inclined to survival horror and bone-gnashing twists but still fun and engaging gaming altogether, Game Transfers said.

Here is a promise from Capcom: "Resident Evil 7" hid tons of horrifying surprises inside the game that is up for gamers to discover. Colleagues have tried to pry details about these surprises from Kawata but he declined. Kawata-san simply reasoned that it is not good to spoil these surprises especially at this stage that Capcom have already climaxed the hype prior to its release date.

"Resident Evil 7" will unleash on January 24 in multi platforms that include PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There is limited VR gameplay present in the game as well for those who own supported devices.
