"Prison Break" fans were surprised when it was announced that the show is returning with Season 5. Seven years ago fans had seen the show's protagonist die in the final appearance. Technically he did not die on screen, making it possible to revive the series.

"Prison Break" Season 5 will be set in present time with the shows main characters having moved on with their lives. Michael Scofield will be shown alive and imprisoned in Yemen. How did Michael evade death? Where was he for 8 years? How did he reach Yemen?

Although answers to most of these questions are a closely guarded secret, some spoilers have revealed that Scofield has done some terrible things for the Government in the past 8 years. He will be shown as a changed man, who unlike the previous seasons won't shy away from hurting people. He has been working for an ISIS style terror outfit. Wentworth Miller had earlier said,

"He's been up to some not-so-nice things and there's a question as to whether or not he's even qualified to be considered a good man."

"Prison Break" Season 5 spoilers also reveal one outcome that fans might not like. Well, it turns out that in orchestrating the escape, one of the brothers will die. It is likely that Lincoln will die while helping Michael Escape. Most rumours suggest that he will die after being hit by a truck, as reported by iDigitaltimes.

"Prison Break" Season 5 will season most cast members from the original series return to the fold. But, Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) and Donald Self (Michael Rapaport) will not make a comeback this season. Sara's love interest will be played by Mark Feuerstein, whereas Inbar Lavi will play Lincoln's girlfriend, as reported by Yibada.

"Prison Break" Season 5 air date has not been announced officially but rumours suggest it will be aired on Thursdays at 9/8c starting from early 2017.
