Many Snapchat users were horribly disappointed come Christmas day when they discovered the popular instant-sharing app wasn't working. Obviously looking forward to snapping pictures and videos of their celebration, gifts, and/or ugly sweaters, a lot of people felt robbed of the chance to share their Christmas with friends and followers - and they were very vocal about it on Twitter.

Heavy provides a series of tweets from angry users to people appalled at the sense of entitlement and the amount of frustration over a simple app.

"Myself included, it says a lot about out generation when it's Christmas Day and everyone is tweeting about Snapchat being down!," tweets Harry (@OhChilean), tagging his post with Snapchat. Chen Fang (@chenbfang) seems to agree, tweeting, "Snapchat goes down Christmas morning. Man, kids these days are really entitled and angry."

Some tweets were not as angry, as other users thought they were the only ones having trouble with the app. That wasn't the case, as a fair number of users logged an official report, sent support screenshots, or posted about the app's status to social media. Down Detector - a site that monitors app outages - detected a definitive number of people self-reporting issues with the app.

43% of people reported having problems with receiving snaps or refreshing their feed. 33% of the reports focused on login, connection, and server issues. The remaining 23% said they had trouble sending snaps.

There was no official report on what the issue was, as Snapchat Support simply tweeted around 10:45 p.m. CST on December 25, "Some Snapchatters are having trouble with the app. We're working on a fix!" The tweet served as confirmation from the company that the app was indeed experiencing glitches.

Perhaps three hours after their initial statement, Snapchat Suppor tweeted that some problems had been dealt with, simply saying, "Some recent issues with the app have been resolved. Please try again. Happy Snapping!"
