Earlier this week, tech buffs were treated to a teaser for an updated version of Xiaomi's affordable laptop, the Mi Notebook Air, which offered great value. Slated to hit the store shelves on Dec. 23, the modest refresh was said to come with 4G LTE connectivity this time.
Contrary to earlier reports, the upcoming laptop will not just be a small refresh, but the company's latest offering in their existing lineup. According to a new report from XiaomiToday, the Chinese tech firm is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, with the 'Pro' moniker signifying that it will be Xiaomi's most high-end offering yet.
The Mi Notebook Air arrived in the market last July and immediately drew comparisons with the MacBook Air from Apple, thanks to its matching design and name. Now, with multiple reports about Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro's impending arrival floating around, gadget freaks are clamoring for more details about the device's specs and features. However, Xiaomi opted to remain tight-lipped and divulged no information regarding its upcoming laptop series dubbed as Mi Notebook Pro.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi began sending out invites for the launch of an undubbed laptop, which was expected to bring 4G connectivity support to the current Mi Notebook Air series. There's also word that the said laptop will come bearing a steep price tag of CNY 6,000 (about $757), Gadgets360 reported.
Mounting shreds of evidence suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro laptop will come with features worthy of the steep price tag as it will sport a 4K resolution display and will be powered by an Intel i7-6700HQ processor. Moreover, it will pack Nvidia's GeForce GTX 960M graphics card and boast 16GB of RAM (DDR4) coupled with a mammoth 512GB of internal memory.
The current Mi Notebook Air variant is available in two sizes i.e. 12.5 and 13.3-inches. The 13.3-inch model was priced at CNY 4,999 (about $757). There is also a possibility that Xiaomi may launch two size models for the Mi Notebook Pro laptop as well.
