Many are criticizing the Nintendo Wii U for not being significantly more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but that is not stopping GearBox, the developers behind Alien: Colonial Marines from saying their game will look best on the Nintendo Wii-U when compared to current generation consoles. Brian Burleson, senior producer at GearBox, describes the Wii U as being a "powerful, powerful machine."

Burleson hasn't given any details of the internal specifications of the console, due to being forced by Nintendo to keep all information regarding the Wii-U under wraps for now. However, reports claims Nintendo's HD console is not as capable when compared to the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. We're curious to find out who is right and wrong in this respect. We expect multiplatform games to look the same as they do on current gen systems, but games built from the ground up will no doubt show the true potential of the Wii-U.

While speaking to Eurogamer about Alien: Colonial Marines, Burleson had this to say. "The Wii U is a powerful, powerful machine and it can do a lot of cool new things. And so the game itself, moving it over to work on the Wii U was not much of a chore."

Gearbox is planning some cool things for the Wii-U version of the game. The company plans on adding the Alien motion tracker on the Wii-U controller touch screen, along with additional applications but what these would be, was not mentioned.

We will find out if what Brian Burleson is saying holds any truth, as E3 is just 11 days away and we can be sure Alien: Colonial Marines will be available in playable form one way or the other. Either behind closed doors or in public, we are certain it will be there. Hopefully Nintendo will spill the beans on the internal specifications of the Wii U. We know the company is focusing more on gameplay than graphics, but these are the things hardcore gamers want to know.
