After the two supermoons last October and November, it is set to peak again this December 14 according to Space.com reports.Anticipated specifically on December 14 at 00:05 GMT (19:05 EST), the moon will be at its largest and brightest just before the year ends.
The Third Supermoon of 2016


According to NASA statements, the perigee full moon or supermoon can be as much as 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter in the last seventy years, a fact that will surely excite the space-gazers, historians and probably even statisticians. Photographers and avid fans are all set waiting for the final supermoon for this year.


The Geminid Meteor


This meteor shower that resulted from 3200 Phaethon comet was already reported since December 4 but will reach its peak on the same day of the perigee full moon which is December 14. Observer's Handbook of the Royal Astronomical Society, seven pm EST is the usual peak hours for Geminids reported by Syracuse and this usually lasts for ten hours. It is expected to have about 120 meteor occurrence per hour at the speed of twenty-two miles per second. Space-gazers are warned however that due to the extra brightness of the supermoon, the smaller meteors will be hardly visible according to NASA. Fans of shooting stars are advised to be quick and prompt if they are anticipating to take photos of this year's Supermoon and Geminid Meteor shower.


This much-awaited event for all space-gazers both set at the same date according to Fox News. It is expected to be crowded on that night in anticipation for the night's wonderful show in the sky.
