Rumors of Boruto taking over the anime series after the main story's end are spreading across the web. Meanwhile, the wait is finally over as "Naruto Shippuden's" next episode will be premiered in a few hours.
In a report by Otaku Vines, the 40th issue of "Weekly Shounen Jump" Magazine announced that Naruto and Hinata's son, Boruto, will join the "Jump Special Anime Festa" line-up. With this announcement, there are speculations of Boruto having a special episode instead of an entirely new anime series, as the manga must have source material for the anime series to use.
However, the manga is still covering "Boruto: Naruto the Movie's" back stories, thus, having no viable source material needed for the anime adaptation just yet.
But things may drastically change as the 50th issue of the magazine reported that Kishimoto is appearing along with Boruto, Naruto, Sarada and Mitsuki's voice actors in a "Naruto x Boruto" stage event on 2017. A big announcement for the franchise may be announced, and fans' hope of having a "Boruto" anime series is still alive.
The source also speculates that the manga "Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring" will get an anime adaptation as one of the show producers' steps to keep the anime series ongoing.
The speculation is also based on the trend of adapting the three novels published on 2015, with the first novel, "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise," broadcasting its first episode on December 1.
Two more novels, "Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding" and "Shikamaru Hiden: A Cloud Drifting in Silent Darkness," are also confirmed to be adapted into the anime series and is expected to take place immediately after the Sasuke novel, so if the earlier rumor holds true, it would not be premiered until early 2017.
Stay tuned as Episode 484, entitled "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise - The Detonating Man," hits the airwaves within the next few hours.
