The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the OKC Thunder might team-up with the Dallas Mavericks before the trade deadline. Reports suggested that the deal might involve the trade of Mavericks' power forward Dirk Nowitzki and Thunder's small forward Kyle Singler and point guard Cameron Payne.

Sports Rageous reported that the OKC Thunder is in the midst of rebuilding their roster to gear up for the playoffs. Reports claimed that adding Nowitzki will help the Thunder to enhance their defensive gameplay and thus, become one of the top contenders for the NBA league title.

Furthermore, the NBA trade rumors suggested that the OKC Thunder might team up Nowitzki with center Steven Adams, which in turn is expected to be an option to give the Thunder's star player Russell Westbrook time to rest.

Moving on, few reports suggested that Nowitzki has an option of demanding a trade himself from the Dallas Mavericks. Should he choose to exercise the option, it is stated that he will seek out to join a team, which will provide him with a chance to win the NBA championship. This has even further paved the way for Nowitzki's trade to the OKC Thunder, which is touted to be the strong contender for the title.

In order to woo the Mavericks to trade their power forward Nowitzki, the OKC Thunder is expected to also offer center Enes Kanter and power forward Nick Collison along with Payne and Singler.

On the other hand, few reports stated that the rumored trade scenario will also benefit the Dallas Mavericks as they will be able to bring young players onto their roster. According to the rumors, Mavericks team is struggling in the current NBA season and reshuffling the roster is expected to help the team to make a deserving comeback.

Besides, it is stated that Singler and Payne will provide the team with excellent offensive and defensive skills, which will help them improve their gameplay and thus, provide a tough competition to other teams in the NBA league.
